Oak Street is also known as Route 1A or the Bangor Road.
- From Bangor and the north, 71 Oak Street is on the left a few houses after Birch Avenue and before you reach Park Street.
- From Mount Desert Island and the south take route 1 north past Main Street. Continue on Oak Street (Route 1A) past Park Street to 71 Oak Street on the right. (It’s right after a private driveway with a red sign labeled “Rumsey Way.”)
- From Bucksport and the west take Main Street or Church Street through Ellsworth, turning left onto Oak Street. Continue past Park Street to 71 Oak Street on the right. (It’s right after a private driveway with a red sign labeled “Rumsey Way.”)
Ample parking is available to the right of the building.
